St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner today announced charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the Central West End couple who gained worldwide notoriety for pulling guns on protesters.
The McCloskeys, both personal injury attorneys, are charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon. In lieu of jail time, Gardner is recommending a diversion program such as community service.
In viral videos, Mark McCloskey was captured pointing a rifle at protestors walking past his palatial mansion. His wife pointed a handgun while glaring at the marchers who were headed to Mayor Lyda Krewson’s home. Both maintain that they were defending their home.
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson said on Friday that a pardon is likely if charges were to be filed.
