The Missouri Department of Labor’s Division of Employment Security announced today that Missouri will begin offering the extended benefits program for those who have exhausted their previous unemployment benefits.
Missouri’s most recent insured unemployment rate of 5.39% triggered the state onto a 13-week extended benefit period, beginning the week of May 31.
Under federal law, the extended benefit program offers up to an additional 13 weeks of benefits to individuals who have exhausted both their regular unemployment benefits and 13 weeks of the pandemic emergency unemployment compensation assistance.
To better assist unemployed workers in understanding the status of their claim, the Division of Employment Security launched a claims tracker within their UInteract system. Much like those used by the IRS to track tax fillings, and used by retailers to track orders, the tracker provides claimants with a quick visual to show their claim status. The claims tracker appears on a claimant’s homepage once they login at uinteract.labor.mo.gov.
