A new 160,000-square-foot building named the EDGE@BRDG (BioResearch & Development Growth (BRDG) Park) will serve as headquarters for Benson Hill. The crop improvement company empowers innovators to develop more healthy, tasty and sustainable food by unlocking the natural genetic diversity of plants.

Officials, including STL Economic Development Partnership CEO and president Rodney Crim, county executive Sam Page and Creve Coeur mayor Barry Glantz gathered on the campus of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center for the building’s topping out ceremony, signing the last beam before it went up to be placed atop the structure.

With Bayer and the Helix Center Biotech Incubator nearby, the development makes 39 North, an agriculture innovation ecosystem near Olive and Lindbergh Boulevards, a leading innovation district focused on agtech. The new facility is expected to house as many as 300 employees.

“The business of agriculture technology is booming, and St. Louis County has been at the forefront of research for decades. More campuses like Seneca’s EDGE@BRDG are sure to fuel this economic growth,” Page said. “Alongside major players in the industry choosing St. Louis as their headquarters, our region will remain a leader in international agricultural technology.”

The combined efforts of Seneca Commercial Real Estate, the Bank of Washington, the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, Larson Capital, Clayco Inc., Benson Hill, all with the assistance of the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, St. Louis County, and the City of Creve Coeur, allowed the project to become a reality. Officials hope the features and amenities at 39 North will lend a hand to attracting and influencing young talent in the country and showcasing the community.
