Vice President Tests Negative as President Trump and First Lady Quarantine Due to COVID-19

President Donald J. Trump and first lady, Melania Trump, remain in quarantine after testing Positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. The president is reportedly exhibiting mild systems and is in a good mood.

Meanwhile, White House physician, Navy Lt. Cmdr. Jesse Schonau on Friday afternoon confirmed that Vice President Mike Pence was tested for COVID-19 earlier in the day, and the tests came back negative. The vice president remains in good health and is free to go about his normal activities.

“Under the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control, the vice president is not considered a close contact with any individuals who have tested positive for COVID, including President Donald J. Trump. Vice President Mike Pence does not need to quarantine,” Schonau said.

President Trump is conducting some business, Friday declaring that a major disaster exists in the state of North Dakota and ordered federal assistance to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms and flooding in July.
