0

St. Louis County Presiding Judge Michael Burton, has issued an administrative order to halt evictions until the county court system enters “Phase 2” of the COVID-19 reopening plan.

Currently, the court is  operating on “Phase Zero,” which means that in-person proceedings are suspended, with very few designated exceptions for critical cases. The St. Louis County courthouse is not closed to the public. People may enter the building to file pleadings, motions and responses. Petitioners may enter the building to file for temporary orders of protection, as the Adult Abuse Office remains open.

St. Louis County currently has a 9% COVID-19 positivity rate, putting it in what’s called the “red zone,” along with the rest of the state.
