In this modern world of electronics, when family time means a gathering with everyone’s eyes on their devices, it is becoming even more important to allocate special times to relax and do something fun together.

St. Louis County Library’s Winter Reading Challenge offers families an opportunity to bond while having a good time. The challenge kicks off Dec. 1, and runs through Jan. 31. Last year, more than 26,000 people participated in the program, which offers fun activities and reading opportunities for the whole family, along with incentives for participation.

The challenge has four categories with something for all ages, from zero to 18 and up. Everyone is asked to complete at least five activities before being entered into a prize raffle that includes movie gift cards, tickets to the Fabulous Fox, Chromebooks and other fun prizes for each age group.
