The board of police commissioners is hosting three “listening sessions” over the next few weeks to give St. Louis County residents an opportunity to share their views on the selection of the next St. Louis County chief of police.

The first meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Hazelwood East Early Childhood Center located at 12555 Partridge Run Dr. in Florissant. Two additional events are scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 26, in South County, and Tuesday, March 10 in the Central/West St. Louis County area. Exact locations will be announced at a later date.

Those who wish to address the board are asked to be prepared to answer the question, “What are the two or three most important attributes the board should consider in their selection of the next chief of police?”

“The entire board is looking forward to the input we are going to receive from the public throughout this process,” commissioner Thomasina Hassler stated.

Interested residents will have a time limit to speak, not to exceed three minutes, and should arrive to sign up prior to 6 p.m.
