Kolache Factory Recloses Dining Rooms Due to Spike in COVID-19 Cases

Effective immediately, Kolache Factory is reclosing dining rooms at all 26 corporate-owned locations, moving back to curbside carryout and drive-thru only. The family-owned Brentwood location’s dining room remains closed until COVID-19 social distancing and other restrictions are lifted. Carryout is available at that location.

The news comes as parts of the country see a surge in COVID-19 cases as businesses reopen. In Missouri, cases are up nearly 9% from a week ago, with most new cases being reported in the southwest region.

Around the country, Texas is experiencing a dramatic surge in COVID-19 cases, which is what prompted the Texas-based chain to take a step back.

“With the surge we are seeing right now in our country, we are taking the preemptive step of shutting down dining rooms at all corporate-owned locations so we can protect our customers and employees as much as possible, encourage social distance, and continue serving our communities fresh-made kolaches,” said Dawn Nielsen, Kolache Factory COO. “We understand this is a scary time, but we are committed to doing our part to protect one another and our economy. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and hope you will continue to place online orders.”

The restaurant industry has been greatly impacted by the coronavirus outbreak and stay-at home orders. In the St. Louis region and around the country, restaurants are doing their best to stay in business while keeping customers safe.
