“Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” star Timothy James Norman, known as Tim Norman on the OWN Network reality show, has been charged in a a murder- for-hire plot in the death of his nephew, Andre Montgomery.

Norman is being held at the Madison County Detention Center in Mississippi, charged with “conspiracy to use interstate commerce facilities in commission of murder-for-hire, resulting in death.”

According to federal authorities, Norman obtained a life insurance policy in October 2014, in the total amount of $450,000 on his 18-year-old nephew. He was listed as the sole beneficiary, and Norman paid the premium directly from his checking account.

In March 2016, Montgomery was shot and killed on Natural Bridge Road in St. Louis, three days after receiving a message from exotic dancer Terica Ellis of Memphis, Tennessee, that she was coming to St. Louis. The complaint says that the day before Montgomery’s death, Norman flew to St. Louis from his home in Los Angeles. Both Norman and Ellis were in town on the day of the murder, with temporary phones showing the same geographic location in the Chase Park Plaza area. Authorities say their phones showed communication throughout the day of the murder, then ceased activity the day after Montgomery’s death. According to the complaint, witnesses said Montgomery was killed when he went outside to meet someone, after receiving a call.

Records show that Ellis received a $9,000 cash payment that she deposited in various bank accounts, and Norman tried to collect the insurance money a few days later. The money has not been paid out.

Federal authorities assert that they have probable cause to believe that Norman conspired with Ellis and others for the murder.
