The Salvation Army and Walmart Join Forces to ‘Stuff the Bus’ for Local School Kids in Need

The Salvation Army and Walmart are partnering to provide new school supplies to local children in need during the “Stuff the Bus” campaign, which takes place at various Walmart locations the weekend of Aug. 7.

Shoppers can purchase and drop off requested items in The Salvation Army collection bins at the front of each store from Aug. 7 to 9. All donations will remain in the community.

“There are thousands of children in St. Louis whose parents will have to make the tough choice between school supplies, groceries, the electric bill or insurance,” said Lt. Col. Robert Webster, midland division commander with The Salvation Army. “We anticipate this number will increase significantly this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.”

For those unable to make it to Walmart that weekend, there is a searchable online registry listing all the items needed. Each item requires just one click to purchase at salarmy.us/stuff-the-bus

Walmart and The Salvation Army have collaborated for more than 30 years in an effort to meet local community needs.
