Mercy’s List of 663 Job Eliminations and Furloughs at Mercy Hospital on Ballas Road

In a letter dated May 22, to the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, Creve Coeur Mayor Barry Glantz and St. Louis county executive Sam Page, Mercy announced 663 position
eliminations and furloughs at the Mercy Hospital St. Louis campus.

Mercy cites unforeseen challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The letter states, “Those employees are expected to be separated from employment beginning on May 22, 2020, with all separations accomplished by August 20, 2020.”
